Day 5 – NaPoWriMo 2013 - Gone, gone, gone

Day 5 – NaPoWriMo 2013 - Gone, gone, gone

Definitely not my usual subject matter (a little Dexter for me), but when the words come you have to write them down.  My apologies, in advance …

Gone, gone, gone
(Jaquith 2013)

She smiled at me
A mistake
She couldn’t run fast enough
Another mistake
She screamed
I liked that
Now she’s gone, gone, gone
And its time to move on.

Day 4 – NaPoWriMo 2013 - I'm right here

Day 4 – NaPoWriMo 2013 - I'm right here

I'm right here
(Jaquith 2013)

You ask me if I'd heard
I ask you, "Of what?"
You ask me if I know
I tell you, "There's an answer."
You ask me if I love you
I ask you, "How does it feel?"
You ask me of our future
I tell you, "I'm right here."

Day 3 - NaPoWriMo 2013- A Lie

Day 3 - NaPoWriMo 2013- A Lie

So, I said no challenges.  Ironically, yesterday’s challenge was to write about “a lie”.  As is drove home tonight this “little irony” found its way in ...

A lie
(Jaquith 2013)

A lie, is a lie, is a lie, is a lie ...

Your subtle omissions
The empty spaces in-between
A simple testament
To darker reaches, places unseen

Delusion, collusion
Swept away by illusion
In the heat of passions lurks a hunger
A voracious emptiness, hard to contain

Lost in a rage of emotion
Choices need to be made
To believe again, rekindle my pride
Or slink away, victim to another's crime

Whiskey burns away the pain
Yet here I remain
No greater a man, only rounded at the edges
Wiser, addicted to a memory

This pain, it feeds me
With a self-indulgent indignation
It manifests a denial
Gives me reprise

And yet,
Wouldn't I have done the same?

Day 2 - NaPoWriMo 2013

Hmm
(Jaquith 2013)

Everyone is trying to hide something
A look
A love
An unsightly role
Perhaps,
The depth of their soul.

Day 1 - NaPoWriMo 2013 - Just Don’t

Day 1 - NaPoWriMo 2013

And so the insanity, therapy for some, begins again. No themes this year, just what ever comes to mind.  Maybe there will be a decent musing or two by the end. Enjoy.

Just Don’t

(Jaquith 2013)

She smiles at me
That silly little smile
That says she knows
What I’m all about

She holds me for a while
She finally makes me smile
She says its OK to cry
She gives me reason to try

The hurt will never change
Nothing left to rearrange
So many reasons here to care
Yet I spiral, gasping for air

Where would I have gone?
And what would I have lost?
Tell me there’s something more
Don’t make me count the cost

Just don’t make me count the cost

She smiles at me again
That silly little smile
That brings me to myself
To the man I need to be.
